- Reinstated the NSA in January, 2004. The chapter had been dormant for several years
- During monthly meetings, the NSA had many distinguished guest speakers such as Speakers Carole Vilardo and
Dave Parks, and the American Staffing Association President James Essay
- Held Roundtable meetings where we had expert guests lead and train:
- Internal/Employee Theft
- Reference Checks
- Identity Thefts
- Co-employment
- Held Annual Awards Dinner Banquet where we honored each of our members’ “Temporary of the Year” during the National Staffing Week in September
- Working with legislators and with lobbyists to fight for a reduction in the .65% payroll tax increase, which in our industry acts more like a gross receipts tax
- Development of website:
- Positively exposed our industry through many media articles and interviews (Review Journal, In Business, IBLV-TV, KNPR, Business Press) increasing our image of credibility and integrity
- Several members attended annual American Staffing Association Chapter Leadership meeting in Washington, D.C., and the ASA Staffing World event
- Won National Award at the ASA convention: the ASA Superior Merit Award in recognition of superior achievement in legislative activities on behalf of the industry
- Brought in Associate Members who offer discounts exclusive to NSA Members
- Held spring mixer to officially announce Board, and to have fun!
- Advocacy: legislative exposure and education to decrease payroll tax (legislation session is in February)
- Visibility/Exposure: for our industry and specifically for our members, i.e., large media campaign during National Staffing Week, along with NSA Annual Awards Dinner
- Code of Ethics: giving credibility to members as we abide by American Staffing
Association code of ethics
- Training/Sharing of Best Practices: quarterly industry training, i.e., boot camp for staffing specialists is the first one to be scheduled
